I am currently in the process of developing a new e-book to supply to members of a website that is currently in development, www.YourFamilyHx.com (Your Family History: Your Home On The Web). I wanted to create a book by people in the know about genealogy but who aren't necessarily genealogists, of course if you are then by all means let me know. The title of the book is "Uncovering Your Family History: Tips and Tricks to Help With The Digging". I am developing it in InDesign so I am planning on eventually selling the book on Amazon.com, our website, Lulu.com and other places. Here is where you all come in. I would like to ask anyone who is interested in contributing to this book to place your thoughts, tricks, tips, stories, etc. on this posting with your name (as much or as little of your name as you like, I will leave that up to you) and your website link if you have one and any business info that you would like me to include under the resources section of the book. I want to make this book as much about all of you as I can since that is the point. This is a great way to get your ideas out there and to help others with uncovering their roots and contributing the genealogy community as a whole. Also, a great section of the website that is being developed as well is a section devoted to the "Back Stories" of those folks who would like to share them, I will give you that link, the rest of the site is actually in the process of being developed so it isn't finished yet but it's coming along great, the link to that page, a form where you can submit your story for inclusion in the database is http://yourfamilyhx.com/genealogy-back-stories-submission-fo... please remember, the site is in beta.
I am anxious to get this off the ground so I am placing a deadline on materials for the book, Volume I, for September 30th, 2012 which is our expected launch date for the website. Anything submitted after that date will be included in subsequent volumes of the book. Of course the information I will receive will be edited and corrected (if necessary) so the contributions aren't going to be treated as quotes but I promise that each and every submission will be looked over carefully, respectively and seriously considered for submission, you have my word on that. In addition, non of the personal information I receive from anyone will ever be used for spam or nefarious marketing techniques. I am a real person, this is a real book, and a real website. I am a web and graphic designer by trade and have developed many different websites.
Other aspects of the website relate to a resources section that I will also ask you folks and others like you to contribute to as well. I don't want to turn this into an advertising thing, that's not why I am writing this. I simply need your help and I also think your voices all need to be heard so please post and I will add your contributions to the site and the e-book with your contact information included...thanks and enjoy your day!
