Oops! Home invader shot by accomplice, police say

MELBOURNE, Fla. ?? One suspect is in the hospital and police officers in Melbourne say they're looking for two others who broke into a home over the weekend.

Three people broke into a Colbert Circle home Saturday night, investigators said.

Officers found one man, identified as Nathaniel Clay, collapsed in the back yard of the home. They think someone inside struck Clay with a baseball bat before one of his accomplices accidentally shot him.

The shooter was aiming for the homeowner but shot Clay, according to detectives.

Clay is recovering at Holmes Regional Medical Center under police guard. He faces burglary charges.

Officers said the other two suspects are still on the run.
